Almenso (“Almenso”, “we”, “us”) is a local business directory operated by Anil Arya, sole proprietor (trading as Anil Enterprises), Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). By using almenso.com you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
From business owners (listing): business name, area, category, phone/WhatsApp, and any optional address, landmark, website, description, photos, hours, GST number or year you choose to add; plus your email if you create an owner account.
From customers (callback/enquiry): your name, phone number, and any message you write.
Automatically: search queries (used in aggregate to improve the directory) and basic technical/log data needed to run the site securely.
2. Why we use it
To publish listings and let customers find and contact local businesses; to pass a callback request (your name, phone, message) to the specific business you chose to contact; and to operate, secure and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Who we share it with
The business you contact: your name, phone and message are shared with that business so they can respond — this is the core purpose of a directory.
Service providers: we use Supabase (database/auth) and Vercel (hosting) to run the site; they process data on our behalf. We also disclose data if required by law. Otherwise we don’t share or sell your data.
4. Cookies & ads
We use only essential cookies for login sessions and security. We do not currently run advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add advertising later, we will update this policy and seek consent where required.
5. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
You may access the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent you gave earlier. To exercise any right, email us (below). We act on valid requests within a reasonable time.
6. Retention & security
We keep listing and lead data while a listing is active or as needed for the directory, and delete/archive it on a valid request, subject to any legal needs. We use reasonable, industry-standard security (Supabase, Vercel) — though no method is 100% secure.
7. Children
Almenso is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change. Continued use means you accept the update.
